They asked me to simulate a training on a topic of my choice and I chose Comprehensive Immigration Reform, as this is something I studied for many years.
However, one thing that bothered me is how chipper I tried to be about a topic that is extremely sobering. It didn't feel natural. You can watch throughout that I have a forced smile.
I didn't get the job, but it was a useful exercise.
When I interviewed for my current job as a strategy consultant, my current boss asked me to walk him through comprehensive immigration reform, as a strategist. Since I had it down cold from practicing so much, I was very natural!
I look forward to creating new videos where I get to have an opinion on the topic and show a more natural face.
There is more where this came from. All of my research is relevant to current discussions about racial and ethnic politics, and growing attacks on critical race theory.
Lately I've noticed how much historical context people are lacking - and how it leads to so much tension, hurt, misunderstanding, and ignorance.
